Jian is a public health researcher and molecular epidemiologist, currently a Research Fellow at Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). He completed his PhD in Epidemiology in 2018 at the University of Hong Kong and Columbia University (2017-2018), followed by two years at the UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial College London (2018-2020).


His primary focus is on understanding the causal relationship of environmental and lifestyle factors with human health, and the molecular mechanisms underlying this relationship. He has extensive experience in multi-omic data analysis and causal analysis using Mendelian randomisation approach. His current research aims to understand the epigenetic and metabolomic mechanisms of neurodevelopment in children.
